Plain-English summary: SkuEstimator runs on your computer. Your models, prices, customers and estimates are stored locally and are never uploaded to us. We hold no copy of your work. The only time anything leaves your machine is if you personally choose to use the optional AI assistant. Details below.
SkuEstimator is in private beta. There are no accounts and no billing yet, so the only personal information we hold is what you give us directly:
We do not run analytics or tracking on this website, and the plugin contains no telemetry of any kind. We cannot see whether you installed it, opened it, or what you did with it.
Everything the plugin creates lives on your own machine. None of it is transmitted to us, and we have no ability to read it.
.skp file — document edits, processed flags, colour assignments and the active customer job. These follow the SketchUp save cycle: close without saving and they are discarded.Because this data is local, it is your responsibility to back it up. The plugin includes a one-click backup tool for exactly this.
There is one circumstance: you use the optional AI assistant.
When you issue an AI command, the relevant component context for that request — attributes, item codes, the figures involved — is sent to Anthropic’s Claude API to be answered. If you attach a reference document and ask a question about it, that document is sent for that request.
Nothing is sent unless you initiate it. The AI assistant is entirely optional, requires you to supply your own API key, and every other feature — estimating, documents, pricing, rules, purchase orders — works with no internet connection at all.
Optional voice dictation, if you enable it, sends the audio you record to OpenAI’s transcription API. Same principle: your key, your choice, off by default.
Both involve international data transfer, since neither company processes solely in Australia. That is why both are optional and off until you turn them on.
No tracking cookies, no analytics, no advertising pixels, no session recording. Fonts are served from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google when you load a page. Nothing else about your visit is recorded.
There is no billing system yet. When subscriptions launch, payments will be handled by Stripe — we will never see or store your card details — and this policy will be updated to describe exactly what account data we hold and where, before we take a single payment.
Under the Australian Privacy Act, and the GDPR where it applies, you may access, correct, export or delete the personal information we hold about you. In practice that means your waitlist entry and any support correspondence — we hold nothing else.
Email privacy@skuestimator.com and we will respond within 7 business days and complete the request within 30 days. To remove your locally stored plugin data, delete the application-data folder; the plugin’s documentation tells you where it is.
If this policy changes materially — in particular when billing and accounts launch — we will update it here and email anyone on the waitlist or holding an account before the change takes effect.
